Right now there is a very special sale going on at Silhouette. Through Plum District (a program similar to Groupon or Living Social), you can get $50 to spend at Silhouette for only $30. You don't have a to have a Silhouette as the store carries vinyl, tattoo paper, rhinestones, heat transfer material, etc. But even better, right now with the coupon code slcplum20, you can get an extra 20% off. So for only $48, I was able to get vouchers for $100 worth of product at Silhouette. Such a deal since I need new mats, an extra blade to have on hand and I can't hardly wait to try out the tattoo paper for an idea I found on the Silhouette blog. If you are interested, you can get the deal by going here:

Truck card
I needed a birthday card for my nephew's upcoming birthday. I saw this adorable truck card in the Best of Card Creations and thought it would do the trick. Unfortunately Silhouette did not have a truck in their library (when I mistakenly searched under 3D). So I had to design one. Fortunately the truck in the book was pretty simple and I knew I could put it together with just a few rectangles, squares, a couple circles and two of the cute gears I found in the Silhouette store. Then a little copy and paste, welding and flipping finished off the base for a cute little shaped card just perfect for a little boy's birthday.

Another sympathy card
I found out tonight that Matt's Aunt Lorraine passed away this morning. She was a very nice lady and I enjoyed spending time with her and her husband, Marvin, before he passed. So tonight I found myself in my craft room with the unbelievably difficult task of creating another sympathy card. Fortunately, I found a pattern for this card in the Best of Card Creations by PaperCrafts. I love this book. I picked it up at CKC several years ago and I find myself pulling it out from time to time when I need a little inspiration. Tonight was no exception and this particular card just jumped out at me. As usual, the hardest part was finding the right paper. I had the polka dot paper sitting on my table top from a card I made the other night. It comes from the Bella Armoire stack by DCWV. I absolutely love that stack. The grey paper comes from the Stella and Rose paper pad from My Mind's Eye. I picked the 6x6 pad when it was on sale at Craft Warehouse and I find it's perfect for card making. The white, grey and black papers just come from my stash of scraps, but I particularly liked how this wreath turned out. It was downloaded from the Silhouette store and the simplicity of the wreath was perfect in comparison to some of the more complex ones I found in the store. With just a few black metal Irock findings and a little sheer ribbon, the card was complete.

While watching the hockey game tonight (so sad that the Hawks lost, but it was only game one), I played with this week's Mojo Monday sketch.
I'm not much of a square card person, but I thought I would give it a try.
I can't remember if I've ever made my own envelope before, but I had fun with this one.
